Jane Libby

Jane Libby

Manager

I’ve been in the tourism industry since 2008 and managing our wonderful i-SITE here in Napier since 2013. Helping cruise ship passengers and other visitors to Hawke’s Bay discover our amazing food and wine experiences is one of the highlights of my job, as well leading a team of passionate tourism experts. I’m a keen walker and cyclist and can recommend some beautiful tracks - Lake Waikaremoana is one of my top spots! The range of winery cellar doors and restaurants throughout Hawke’s Bay is fantastic - they all have special experiences to offer as well as amazing local fare.

Senior Duty Coordinator

For over 20 years I’ve been immersed in the tourism industry as part of the Napier isite team. My expertise lies in ensuring visitors receive top-notch service and advice. I'm passionate about walking and biking, sharing my experiences to enrich our guests' journeys. The variety in my role, meeting people worldwide, exploring New Zealand's wonders, and collaborating with a fantastic team, is what I enjoy. One of my hidden gems is The Colonnade by the Soundshell - an oasis where you can relax, listen to the sea, and soak up the excitement of visitors passing by on foot, bike, or various other means.

Senior Duty Coordinator and Cruise Co-ordinator

If you’re wanting to maximize your stay in Hawke’s Bay, I’ll find the right excursion or activity to fit within your timeframe and interests. I’ve been working closely with our tour operators since 2002 and have a great understanding of their product to help you pick the most enjoyable option for you. Cruise co-ordination is my specialty and I’m proud to contribute to Napier’s high rating in the New Zealand Cruise Industry. I’m also a good trouble shooter, and deal with a wide range of enquiries from visitors. In my spare time I like to walk – one of my favourite walks is over Napier Hill from the Botanical Gardens to Mataruahou Lookout over the Napier Port – a great walk with stunning scenery across Hawke’s Bay.

I picked up the passion for travel after living in England and Canada for 6 years and have been with the Napier i-SITE since 2006. I’ve got great knowledge of local events happening in Hawke’s Bay and am now enjoying working in our retail store. I enjoy meeting a wide range of visitors and helping them to navigate through the choices of activities available to them. It’s also satisfying helping find the perfect gift or memory for visitors to take away with them.

I joined the Napier i-SITE team in November 2023, and thrive on learning and sharing the rich history of Hawke’s Bay to visitors. Engaging with visitors, whether local or from afar, is truly rewarding. There’s special winery where my wife and I got married over 20 years which I love to visit as well as taking our golden retriever to Pakowhai Regional Park. But nothing beats the atmosphere at McLean Park after a Magpies rugby win, sharing stories and cheers with friends.

I’ve travelled extensively throughout New Zealand and enjoy meeting people from all over the world. I have worked at the i-SITE since 2002 and speak both German and French. If you’re keen on outdoor activities, rafting, jet boating, zorbing and tramping I’m your go-to person. I also specialise in accommodation – finding the ideal place for your stay in Hawke’s Bay or elsewhere in New Zealand. My favourite spot for a day trip in Hawke’s Bay is Bell Rock or Waimarama.

I have varied experience in the Hawke’s Bay tourism industry, and have been working at the Napier i-SITE since early 2019. I am a specialist in local accommodation, having had previous experience working in that sector. I love interacting with new people, hearing their stories and learning about their cultures. My favourite place in Hawke’s Bay is Shine Falls. The walk leading up to it and the waterfall itself are both great and is something I would definitely recommend if someone has time while they’re in Hawke’s Bay.

Born in France and educated in the Netherlands, I'm fluent in both respective languages as well as English. Having explored New Zealand on my motorbike and with my family in a campervan, I'm eager to share my experiences with you. I treat each visitor as a friend, offering the best advice for their Hawke's Bay stay and beyond. Some of my favourite Hawke’s Bay activities are a thrilling motorbike ride on the "Gentle Annie," a serene walk on Ocean Beach with a picnic, and indulging in summer delights at wineries with live music. Let's ensure your journey is as vibrant as the places I recommend!

Since joining the Napier isite team in October 2022, I've found my niche in curating family-friendly activities for both locals and visitors to the region. I enjoy interacting with our visitors, collaborating with an amazing team, and working in a beautiful location. When not at the isite, you'll find me at Pakowhai Regional Park, a favourite spot for walks with my dog Flash, where we meet so many other dogs and owners. Another gem is the Black Bridge River Walk - a serene escape among the trees, especially refreshing during the heat of summer.

Since joining the Napier isite team in 2023, I've dived headfirst into the tourism industry. Fluent in English and Te Reo, I specialise in local walks, art deco tours, and the delightful realm of food and wine. I’m passionate about connecting with a diverse range of visitors from around the world. One of my favourite spots in Hawke’s Bay has to be Pourerere Beach. It’s a haven of calm and relaxation and its peaceful vibe captures the essence of what makes Hawke’s Bay truly special.

With tourism being my passion, I bring over 25 years of international tourism experience to Napier isite, including as a tour guide in Hawke’s Bay and across New Zealand since 2010. Fluent in English, Spanish and French I joined Napier isite in 2022 and specialise in unveiling post-1931 earthquake tales and the region's exquisite food and wine. I enjoy connecting with people and sharing the essence of Hawke's Bay. One of my hidden gems is Te Mata Peak – a breath taking canvas of the region's splendour offering biking, walking and amazing views.

Whether liaising with local tourists or international guests, I enjoy sharing my experiences to help them get the most out of their visit to Hawke’s Bay.
