The Real Theatre Company is a private company operating within the Hawke's Bay community as an amateur theatre company.
The Artistic Director, David Coddington, is holding auditions for his upcoming production of "Badjelly the Witch", written by Spike Milligan.
Group auditions will be held on Sunday, 25th August by appointment only.
The cast required includes:
Tim: Male. 12 to 16 years. Confident Leader
Rose: Female. 9 to 12 years. Bright and Bubbly
Mum: Female. 30 to 40 years. Motherly. Warm
Dad: Male. 30 to 45 years. Confident. Outgoing.
Policeman: Male. 30 to 50 years.
Shark: Male. 20 to 50 years.
Dinglemouse: Female. 14 to 40 years. Small. Bubbly. Confident. Outgoing.
Jim the Eagle: Male. 18 to 50 years. Strong Leader. Confident. Outgoing.
Badjelly the Witch: Female. 30 to 50 years. Strong. Outrageous. Bold.
Narrator: Male. 30 to 50 years. Good Story-teller.
Tim and Rose are looking for Lucy the Cow in the big, black forest when they are captured by Badjelly the Witch. Help!
Will Binklebonk the Tree Goblin, Mudwiggle the Worm and Dinglemouse rescue them from Badjelly? Or will they be turned into sausages?
Badjelly the Witch is a lively story about two children who face up to a petulant witch with help from other characters they meet along the way. Its message is about overcoming fear and getting help when you feel scared.
Rehearsal Season: Friday, 27th September to Thursday, 10th October
